MOZAMBIQUE VS NIGERIA FALLOUTS:Amodu faces House of Reps on Tuesday    4/4/2009

By Ade Ojeikere

Super Eagles chief coach Shuaibu Amodu would on Tuesday at 11a.m appear before the House of Representatives in Abuja to explain what went wrong with the team’s preparation for the 2010 World Cup qualifier between the Mambas of Mozambique and their Nigerian counterparts last week Sunday in Maputo

SportingLife gathered exclusively that the decision to invite Amodu to face the House Committee on sports is part of the seat of government’s resolve to rescue the country’s quest for a fourth World Cup appearance in South Africa in 2010.

Besides, the meeting, SportingLife gathered further would lay the foundation for a bigger probe into wobbly and fumbling outing of the Eagles with words rife that Nigerians would be asked to submit reports on steps to be taken for a new dawn at the senior level.

Aside, members of the team would be contacted to provide a blueprint on what they think should be done to actualise Nigerians’ dream of a World Cup outing in 2010.

Also to appear before the House of Representatives is the Eagles assistant coach Daniel Amokachi and the head of the technical committee in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Taiwo Ogunjobi.

SportingLife

was reliably informed that Amodu would either on Wednesday or Thursday meet with chieftains of the NFF to fashion out fresh strategies and ideas that would help reinvent the team into winning ways.

It is believed that on the day of the meeting, Amodu will be given a two-match ultimatum to make the Eagles perform better than they did in Maputo, when Nigeria is scheduled to meet Ireland on May 29th in Dublin in an international friendly and against France in Paris on June 2nd.
